Serpentine Mineral or "New Jade" Gemstone
The serpentine mineral, often called "new jade" is so named after a snake because it looks so much like the reptile's skin! It is often passed off as jade, and although it is a beautiful stone, it looks nothing like jade, jadeite or nephrite. Serpentine beads are found in two forms, one is translucent and other is opaque. These beads are a good substitute of jades in the jewelry industry.
