Handcrafted Swarovski Crystal Jewelry

Handcrafted Swarovski Crystal Jewelry

Handcrafted Swarovski Crystal Jewelry
I guess when we're discussing handmade ethnic jewelry from around the world, we can't forget about handcrafted Swarovski Crystal Jewelry from Austria. I, especially would have an interest in it since I have been a crystal seller of Swarovski for years. When I get loose Swarovski crystal beads in the mail, you would think I received a shipment of diamonds. And that's what they look like to me. I can't wait to get them. I put them in their own little plastic compartments and try hard to collect every color. That's difficult since loose Swarovski comes in over three hundred colors and now there is crystal pearl Swarovski which I use, as well.

Even though I don't condone "big business" and manufacturing that much, I have to make an exception when it comes to Swarovski. For one thing, the beads are used by so many crafters when it comes to making handcrafted Swarovski Crystal jewelry. Loose Swarovski crystal is also used in clothing, shoes, belts, purses, lamps, Christmas ornaments and numerous other handcrafted items, so it is acceptable in my book. I've even seen it used to decorate cell phones. It's really great that anyone is able to purchase it, because sometimes small crafters have a hard time getting "name brand" products which are so often needed for selling purposes. I hate to say how "name dropping" works, but that is reality! Another reason I like it is because it comes with a wonderful story of a "small-time" business person hitting the "big-time" and I absolutely love success stories like that.

Handcrafted Swarovski Crystal Jewelry Daniel Swarovski founded a company at the end of the nineteenth century with the aim to cut crystals automatically. They initially worked with the production of optical products, abrasives and grinding tools, the cutting of crystals and the manufacturing of decorative stones made from crystal. Not only was the loose Swarovski crystal used in jewelry, it was also used in chandelier parts.

Swarovski became extremely popular when we started seeing it in Hollywood and especially on the runways. That started way back in the seventies, but the designs are still going strong.

In 1973 the company produced a paperweight and a key ring as memorabilia for the 12th Olympic Winter games in Innsbruck. I like the story about the designer, Max Schreck, who accidentally started a new product line when he built a little mouse out of crystal chandelier parts. I'm sure you know what happened after that. I think we all know someone who has curios filled with dozens of Swarovski Crystal figurines. They are so cute and my favorite is the tiny grand piano. Today, Swarovski's figurine collection "Silver Crystal" is a major branch of the company.

In 1995 the company celebrated its 100th anniversary by building a spectacular theme park called "Swarovski Crystal Worlds". in Wattens which is close to Innsbruck. It was designed by artist André Heller and takes you into a land of imagination, beauty and fun. It is an awesome park and is landscaped with waterworks, a labyrinth and spectacular lighting.

Handcrafted Swarovski Crystal Jewelry As mentioned, I make handcrafted Swarovski crystal jewelry and included in my collection are necklaces, pins, bracelets, earrings, anklets, lariats, sunglasses, wine markers. What I like about my handcrafted Swarovski crystal jewelry and other accessories is the fact that I can match it with anything. I might buy an ensemble with the "oddest" combination of colors and all I do is go to my crystal box. There is always something in there that will match and I don't even have all of the colors. I do custom made jewelry for my clients

This started by my just making jewelry for my friends and started to catch on. Now I have lots of customers who bring over an outfit and I'll make something for them. They decide what they need....a choker, bracelet, earrings, whatever and I match it up. Now I'm actually doing it online with photos. If you email me a photo, I can custom make whatever you might need. Just email me for a quote. I try to keep my prices very reasonable, also. Now you don't have to be super rich to get a "one-of-a-kind" made just for you.

I like to incorporate gemstones into my handcrafted Swarovski crystal jewelry and I use sterling silver for jewelry making, unless my customers want to keep costs down. If that's the case, I can use base metal. I like sterling because, even though you have to polish it, it still lasts forever.

Swarovski Crystal Handcrafted Jewelry The crystal choker above is a really popular necklace. It's done in 6mm bicones of any color. What's nice about this Swarovski crystal beaded jewelry is that the choker just slips on your neck with no clasp. Therefore, it's so easy to take off and put on. Also, it fits anyone. If you would like more information about plus size jewelry, click here. It's really unfair for up to 50% of the women who can't get jewelry to fit. Bracelets and chokers are often made in a standard size that doesn't fit everyone. I make sure that my jewelry fits everyone. If there is something that doesn't fit, I can usually adjust it with an extention so that anyone can wear it. There is never a charge. Retail is $60 for all chokers, if interested. The Mardi Gras necklace pictured above is another piece of handcrafted Swarovski crystal jewelry that I sell a lot of. It can be worn with so many things because of all the colors in it. I sell this in 20", 24", 30", 36" and 40" lengths. Some people like to buy three for four and wear them altogether. Also, the long ones can be wrapped around a couple of times, so you can have one long necklace or a couple of short ones. This necklace can also be made in solid colors, of your choice, of course. They range from $60 - $100, depending on the length. Handcrafted Swarovski Crystal Jewelry The above crystal pearl Swarovski bracelet is beautifully done in peach pearls and complementing peach crystals. It has a magnetic clasp so it can be put on easily. $60. Handcrafted Swarovski Crystal Jewelry - Home
