From ancient times, jewelry has come in various colors, shapes and sizes. Certainly, it is human nature for one to explore all the qualities of the earth's treasures when creating and designing. This skill is a gift from the ancient people and this art has been passed from generation to generation until it evolved into what we see today in handmade ethnic jewelry.

It is my wish to promote the handicrafts of skilled artisans from around the world, particularly in the craft of handmade ethnic jewelry and ethnic tribal jewellery. These artists specialize in jewelry designs that have been carried over from the traditions of their culture's ancient ancestors while utilizing the natural gemstones and other materials available in the geographical areas of which they live.

I have always been interested in culturally distinctive artwork and jewelry that is artistically done. This particular venture began when I accidentally discovered the most beautiful and unusual handmade Peruvian jewelry. I never saw anything like it. Being that I am a jewelry artisan myself, I knew the techniques used to produce this magnificent work of art. It really takes talent to do what they do and for me, it would take forever to do what they do! Finding the workmanship absolutely incredible, I have been buying it, wearing it, and selling it ever since.

And what a "win-win" situation all the way around! I later discovered that the selling of this handmade ethnic jewelry increases the quality of life for the crafters and their families who come from underprivileged communities.

That gave me an idea. I wondered what other places in the world had to offer, in the way of unique handicrafts, and that's when my quest began. I've found some wonderful things so far and they come with some amazing stories. As already stated, not only are these transactions a benefit to us, who get to utilize this unique, wearable art, but there are many other impoverished communities from around the world who rely on these types of sales to make a living.

Many artists are even in need of assistance, relevant to the setting up of their businesses. Aside from not having tools and materials, they need an outlet to get their handmade ethnic jewelry on the market. They have no way of advertising or communicating with the rest of the world.

There are even small established workshops in Europe who are losing their businesses because of mass production and huge advertising campaigns. They are finding themselves unable to compete in the global market.
